‘NUGGEKAYI’ STARTS

A Kannada cinema title with a vegetable name ‘Nugge Kaayi’ (drum stick) went on the floors. There are songs on flowers, fruits and vegetables in the past but not a title so far. There is also a song ‘Kaayi Kaayi Nugge Kaayi….in ‘Halli Meshtru’ Kannada cinema that strikes the mind.

At the Chancery Pavilion producer Preeth S Hegde maiden venture ‘Nugge Kayi’ was flagged off by Karnataka Minister Krishne Byre Gowda and first shot was switched by NR Nanjunde Gowda.

It is over lunch meeting with friends producer Preeth S Hegde thought of variety of food prepared from Drum Stick and he discussed why not a title for Kannada film ‘Nugge Kaayi’. Hailing from Property Management consultancy profession Hegde prepared some more on the title he selected first and hand it over to director Venugopal. Hegde had invited a youngster from KSCA Administration department Madhusoodhan for the central role in the film.

Venugopal in three months time prepared a comedy script. The vegetable title is very apt for the film. This film also carries a message besides wholesome entertainment in it. He had put Madhusudhan to training to cope up for acting. The qualities of drum stick are in the qualities of characters. The shoot will be held in Bengaluru, Goa, Mangaluru and other places. After 35 days shoot the songs will be shot in Chickmagaluru surroundings. The tentative date of film release is March 2017.

Madhusoodhan working in Administration department in KSCA is having a role that spreads from 20 to 35 years. Esthar Naronha a beautiful looking heroine of Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Tulu, Konkani language films is playing a role of village belle. She was waiting to do this kind of role in her career. Surekha Pallavi is Christina Joy from this film. She had acted in one film with director Venugopal. She has both positive and negative shade in the film. Jennifer Antony from painting art to cinema so far acted in nearly 15 films. She is playing Esthar Naronha mother in the film. A cricket coach in real life Udit Prasad is playing football coach in this film. Vardhan is playing villain.

Suresh is scoring music for this film, Madesh Muthappa has penned dialogue and assisting in direction, Suryakanth Honavalli is cameraman.

Suchindra Prasad is having a very strong role. Datthanna, Pooja Shetty, Ranjith and others are in the cast.
